Abdullah O. Jimoh (He/him) is a linguist and a poet. He holds a Bachelor's degree in linguistics and he is a natural language processing enthusiast. His works have appeared or are forthcoming in Modern Poetry in Translation, A Long House, Sky Island, The Muse Journal, Gyroscope Review, The Shallow Tales Review, IHRAM, Thanatos Review, Mudroom, Afritondo and elsewhere.
What was your favorite book as a child?
My favourite book as a child at the primary level of my education was Sugar Girl by Kola Onadipe and at the secondary school level, my favorites were Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe and A Raisin in The Sun by Lorraine Hansberry.
What was the original reason or motivation why you started writing creatively?
I like the fact that a piece of writing can incite or stir our emotions. The fact that writing is a vehicle of knowledge also interests me a lot. I also like the documentative attribute of writing.
What was the most adventurous or thrilling thing you ever did/experienced?
I traveled to Enugu state for my NYSC camping and spent about twelve hours on the road. It was my first time traveling that long by road.
Do you listen to music while reading or writing?
No, I don't listen to music while reading or writing. There is no tangible reason for that other than wanting an absolute concentration.
